Two ways out, one screen
Settings holds both exports as plain rows, each one sitting next to the import that reads the file back in.
Export CSV takes your transactions in a single tap. There is no range to pick. Deleted transactions and the originals behind a merged transaction are left out.
Export Database writes the whole database to one compressed file. The Import Database row directly above it restores from that same file on another device.

Why an expense app must respect the export
Your data, your call. Budgie ships two exports: a flat CSV for spreadsheets and a compressed copy of your database for a full restore. Both are user-initiated and saved through the OS share sheet.
CSV columns map cleanly to most spreadsheet pivots: title, both accounts with their amounts and currencies, category, MCC, date, comment, and the bank's own transaction id. There is no tags column, and built-in system categories export blank. The database backup is a compressed copy of your data, so it is locked with your PIN only if a PIN was set when you exported it.
Questions
Why two export formats?
CSV is for spreadsheets, tax software, and other apps that want flat data. The backup preserves all your data, including what the CSV leaves out, for a full restore on a new device.
Is the backup encrypted?
Only if a PIN was set when you exported it: the backup is locked with your PIN if you had one set, and not locked if you never did. Restoring a PIN-locked backup asks for the PIN that backup was made with, and that PIN becomes the app PIN.
Can I import the CSV back into Budgie?
The CSV-import feature handles any flat CSV including ones Budgie produced — useful for round-tripping or merging databases.
Does export work offline?
Yes. Both export flows produce files locally; you only need internet to upload them to a remote storage service.
