Bank Sync & Statement Import — Bring Your Bank Data In
Connect a supported bank for automatic sync, or bring in statements from PDF, XLSX, or CSV. Budgie catches duplicate imports, pairs up transfers on its own, and lets you fix a bad sync without starting over.
- Connect Monobank once and new transactions, jars, and FX rates arrive on their own
- No live connection? Import statements from Erste PDF, PrivatBank XLSX, or any bank's CSV
- Sync repairs find duplicate imports and pair your own-card transfers automatically
- A re-sync window backfills recent history without touching your manual edits
- Read-only Binance sync brings crypto balances into the same view — no trading, no withdrawals
Frequently Asked Questions
What do I need to connect Monobank?
You need a personal token from Monobank, which you generate yourself and which only lets Budgie read your data. Budgie imports your accounts and transactions, and refreshes them when you open the app and in the background at the pace your phone allows, with no fixed interval. When you connect, you choose how far back to load: 1, 3 or 6 months, a year, the whole period, or only new transactions. More about Monobank sync
How do I import PrivatBank transactions?
Export a statement from Privat24 as an Excel file and pick it in Budgie. Each export is a one-time import with no connection to your bank. If you import a newer export later, anything already in Budgie is skipped, so nothing is duplicated. More about PrivatBank import
Can I import an Erste Bank Austria statement?
Yes. Download the PDF account statement from George, Erste's online banking, and pick it in Budgie. Euro accounts are supported, and a later statement skips transactions you have already imported. More about Erste PDF import
How does Binance sync work?
Create a read-only API key in Binance with only reading enabled, never trading or withdrawals, and enter it in Budgie. Your balances and history come in, and P2P purchases are matched with the bank payments you made for them. More about Binance sync
What if my bank is not on the list?
Live sync works only with Monobank and Binance, and statement import only with PrivatBank and Erste Bank Austria. Any other bank can still be added: export a CSV file from its app or website and map the columns once, or start from a built-in preset. More about CSV import
Which banks does Budgie support?
Monobank and Binance connect with a personal API key for live, automatic sync. Erste and PrivatBank statements import directly from PDF or XLSX, and any other bank works through flexible CSV import with column mapping or a built-in preset.
Do I need to give Budgie my bank login?
No. Live sync uses a personal API key you generate yourself, scoped to reading your data, never your account password. Statement imports need no credentials at all — you just pick the exported file.
What happens if a sync fails partway through?
Nothing is lost. Each connection commits what it fetched to your local database as it completes, and every row carries a source id, so the next sync picks up where it left off without creating duplicates.
Can I use bank sync and CSV import together?
Yes. Each account picks the method that fits its bank — live sync, a one-time statement import, or manual entry — and they all sit side by side in the same budget. Sync data repairs and transfer detection run across every account regardless of how its transactions arrived.
